HOL06 HEPES Buffer Solution aka 1 Molar HEPES (4-(2-hydroxyethyl)-1-piperazineethanesulfonic acid) solution is a commonly used buffering solution in cell culture applications. Its primary purpose is to maintain a normal physiological pH environment in cell cultures by providing extra buffering capacity, especially in experiments conducted outside a carbon dioxide incubator. While HEPES does not offer nutritional benefits to cells, it enhances the buffering capacity of the cell culture medium. HOL06 HEPES Buffer Solution is typically added to the cell culture medium to achieve the desired concentration, usually ranging from 10 to 25 mM. With its high solubility, membrane impermeability, stability in biochemical reactions, and low light absorbance, HEPES is preferred for maintaining a stable pH environment within the range of 6.8 to 8.2.
