Description

S016 sodium chloride (NaCl) is used primarily for the following purposes during plant cell culture:
1. **Osmotic Balance**: S016 Sodium chloride (NaCl) helps to maintain the osmotic balance of the culture medium. Proper osmotic pressure is essential to prevent plant cells from either shriveling up due to water loss or bursting due to water intake.
2. **Nutrient Supplement**: S016 Sodium chloride  provides essential ions, specifically sodium (Na⁺) and chloride (Cl⁻). While sodium is not required in large quantities by most plants, it’s is an essential micronutrient involved in various physiological processes, including photosynthesis and osmoregulation.
3. **Stress Response Studies**: Sodium chloride is often used to simulate salt stress conditions in plant tissue culture. By introducing NaCl into the medium, researchers can study the effects of salinity on plant growth, development, and stress response mechanisms.
